I am a concert pianist and piano teacher, and maintain a teaching studio in Baden. Teaching is one of my greatest joys, and I have many years of experience teaching both children and adults.

I hold a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the Peabody Conservatory, one of the most selective piano programs in the world, as well as degrees from the Franz Liszt Academy in Weimar, Germany, the Eastman School of Music, and the University of Texas at Austin.  For three years I worked as a music professor at Old Dominion Univ. in Norfolk, and have worked with students ranging from complete beginners to winners of international competitions. Since 2011 I have been employed as a full-time faculty member of the Kantonsschule Baden.

Lessons in English or German are possible.  When desired, I can also help students prepare for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music exams.

 Classical Method
 Suzuki Method

The classical method is a widely adopted and traditionally used method, starting with learning to read music. It requires less parental assistance and is suitable for learners of all ages, particularly adults and children above 8.

Suzuki method is suitable for young learners, particularly those from 3 to 6 years old. It uses similar approach to learning a “Mother Tongue”. Children are taught to play by rote from the beginning, while note reading is introduced months or years later.
