Feldenkrais Method, Somatic Experiencing, Work with the connection of Body and Voice.

There are individual lessons and groups of four to six people. It's a learning that improves our movements and our perception. It can be helpful when there is pain or tension, emotional themes ore when you like to use the body more efficient and joyful in what you are doing.

The Feldenkrais Method helps to reduce pain and increase movement while teaching you to recognize habits that are limiting or giving you pain. While exploring new possibilities you can experience an other way to move that is much more comfortable and powerful and supporting you in your daily movements.

In group classes people are moving themselves, mostly in lying positions and being given instructions. And in individual lessons this organic learning happens by being touched and moved. Doing individual lessons in Somatic Experiencing, you become more aware of your body perceptions, you can reinforce your resources and create a space that is safe, so that painful experiences an inner tensions can dissipate. Your nervous system can calming down and you will feel more vitality in your body.

Working with the voice is based on the same principles. It is for people that are interested in the connection of the voice and the body and like to discover their own voice. This can be while making free sounds or singing a melody …

Treatments are covered by the Supplemental Insurance.

Does your back hurt? Do you have trouble focusing your attention? Have you stopped participating in activities you used to enjoy? Because of injuries, stress, or chronic movement postures, we lose the ability to move with ease and comfort. Pain is developed overtime, and we start believing that pain and discomfort are part of everyday life. By learning how to move with less effort you will replace your old movement patterns with more effective and pleasurable ones.

Through gentle touch and movement The Feldenkrais Method can help anyone who wants to reconnect with their natural abilities to move, think and feel. Whether you want to be more comfortable sitting at your computer, playing with your children and  grandchildren, or performing a favorite pastime, these gentle lessons can improve your overall well being.

“I have been intrigued by this subtle form of retraining the nervous system, which I recommend to patients whose movement has been restricted by injury, cerebral palsy, stroke, fibromyalgia, or chronic pain. I find it to be much more useful than standard physical therapy. I also believe that the Feldenkrais Method® can help older people achieve greater range of motion and flexibility, and help all of us feel more comfortable in our bodies.”
-Andrew Weil, M.D. Author of Spontaneous Healing and Natural Health, Natural Medicine

“As a violinist, the work has not only sped my recovery from injury, but greatly enhanced my sense of physical integrity, ease and grace—even with an activity as “unnatural” as playing the violin!”
~ Ingrid Matthews, performs on Baroque and classical violin and is the Music Director of the Seattle Baroque Orchestra

“After years of back problems, the Feldenkrais Method has given me the ability to remain free of pain. They are by far the most effective and pleasurable exercises I have ever done.”
~ Joseph Batkin, M.A.
